Perennial Exchange 2004
Sunday, May 16th from 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Kendall Park
| It wasn't the sunny skies and warm temperatures that drew a crowd at Kendall Park on Sunday, May 16, but the opportunity to exchange unwanted or overabundant perennials for eager takers. Among the selection were viola (known as johnny jump-ups), iris', spiderwort, ferns, speedwell, hostas and more. Not only does this event offer residents and their guests the opportunity to introduce new varieties to their garden, but there is absolutely no charge for these plants! Many found great savings as did some takers of a flat of viola that is now being sold at area nurseries for no less than 9.99 a flat (thanks to Jan Geisler of Ledgewood Ct.).
Muffins, croissants, orange juice and "spirits" were served. Winner of the Perennial Basket Drawing ($65 value) was Cheryl Miller of Deerwood. The basket was generously donated by Bogie Lake Greenhouse. Sponsoring this event was neighbor and Century 21 realtor Susan McFarland of Winewood. Thanks to all attendees for making this event an annual favorite!
