4th of July Festivities
July 3rd - Night of Lights Boat Parade -
Be a participant and enjoy the view. This light show of illumination is a spectacular event! The Night of Lights Boat Parade features a parade of boats adorned with illumination. Boaters have opted to use multicolored, clear and roped lights, as well as glow in the dark
bands. This event will take place just after dusk (approximately 9:45pm) on Friday, July 3. Boaters will meet in the large bay off Winewood
and Tamwood and travel throughout the main lake. Boaters are reminded to use an inverter of 400 watts of power to avoid losing power midstream. Also those traveling under the Commerce Bridge or Ledgewood need to have access to lower any illuminated poles to
pass within the bridge’s height restriction
Pre-Fireworks Concert on the Lake
On July 4th between 7:00 and 9:00pm the Half Whacked band (Tom Zakarian, Allan Nahajewski and special guest artist Kari Holmes) will be performing live in the Ravinewood/Pikewood canal. We invite you to pull your boats in, anchor and enjoy the musical sounds of the 60's through today while you await this years fireworks exhibition. The music will end promptly at 9:00pm which will give you plenty of time to get to the main lake for the fireworks which start at 10:00pm. Hope to see you.
Fourth of July Fireworks
Once again, Zambelli Internationale of New Castle, Pennsylavania will provide the much anticipated firework display on Saturday, July 4. The 20 minute display will begin promptly at 9:55 pm from Higgins Island. Residents are not allowed picnicking on the island for the
entire day on July 4 as the pyrotechnicians set up their equipment and the permit prohibits anyone on the property throughout the day. Also, due to federal regulations, boaters are required to stay within 1,000 feet from Higgins Island throughout the entire display.
Failure to comply will result in an interruption of the firework display.
